How RealTT Cups work
There are two free tournaments a week: the solo Thursday Cup at 7 pm and the Saturday Cup for teams of 3 at 4 pm (Brasília time). Sign-up opens 15 minutes before, matches are single-elimination, 1 game to 11, and the champion gets 500 Bolas de Ouro.
RealTT Cups are free online ping pong tournaments held every week. You play live, knockout style, against other players.
Schedule
| Cup | When | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Thursday Cup | Every Thursday, 7:00 pm | Solo |
| Saturday Cup | Every Saturday, 4:00 pm | Teams of 3 |
Times are Brasília time (UTC−3). In the app, the time is shown on your phone's clock, so if you live in another time zone you see your local time.
How to sign up
- Open the Compete tab and pick Thursday Cup or Saturday Cup.
- When registration opens, 15 minutes before the start, tap REGISTER.
- Keep the app open at Cup time. If you change your mind, tap again to withdraw.
Cups are free, use no energy and have no ads.
Team sign-up (Saturday Cup)
The captain taps Create team and invites 2 friends. Once both accept, the captain taps REGISTER TEAM. Each player can be on only one team per Cup.
How the bracket is drawn
- At start time the bracket is drawn automatically.
- Seeds come from your Ranked rating. For a team, it's the average of the three players.
- If the number of entrants doesn't fill the bracket, the top seeds get a bye to the next round.
- With fewer than 4 entrants, the Cup is cancelled.
How the matches work
- Single elimination: lose and you're out.
- Every match is 1 game to 11, win by 2.
- When your match is called, you have 30 seconds to join. If you don't join, or you leave mid-match, you lose by walkover.
- The next round starts 1 minute after the last match of the round ends.
- A match that runs past 15 minutes goes to whoever is ahead.
Team ties
In a team tie, 3 matches are played at once: each team's best player against the other's best, second against second and third against third, by Ranked rating. The team that wins 2 matches goes through.
Prize
The champion gets 500 Bolas de Ouro. In the Saturday Cup, each of the 3 players on the winning team gets the 500. The prize goes straight to your wallet.
