Doubles world champion

In Doha in 2025, Shinozuka teamed with Shunsuke Togami, the No. 2 seeds, to win the men's doubles title at the World Championships. It was Japan's first title in the event since 1961. In the final the pair beat Taiwan's Lin Yun-Ju and Kao Cheng-jui.

Team Japan and 2026

Shinozuka was part of the Japanese team that won silver at the 2026 World Team Championships in London. In June in Ljubljana he won again with Togami, this time the WTT Star Contender: in the doubles final the pair beat Wen Ruibo and Huang Youzheng 3-2. Playing style

Shinozuka is a left-handed shakehand attacker. What counts most in his game:

  • Left-handed: serve and cross-court angles trouble many right-handers. See how to play against a lefty.
  • Partnership with Togami, a right-hander, giving the pair opposite sides of the table.
  • Offensive shakehand game, despite his small frame. See grips and playing styles.
